We receive heartfelt letters of thanks every year. Here are just a few that just came in:.

Dear Mel,

I just got home from work and came down to send you a message and saw your e-mail.  Wow!!  What a terrific event.  A little rain can't dampen the sprit of Mel's Pig Roast!!  Congratulations on a record-breaking turnout and fund raising.  Despite the problems with the economy and all the issues our communities are facing, events like Mel's Pig Roast still bring out the best in people.

The Mission River guys - and our "subsidiary", the Stingray Horns - had a great time. There was so much energy from the crowd that it just pushed us to crank harder and do our best for our guests.  Thanks to Donny and the crew for the great stage, to Jake for all his help with logistics and setup, and to the "roadies" you drafted to get our equipment back on the truck - cool young guys who can lift anything!  Mission River is proud to be the "House Band of Mel's Pig Roast"!!

 There is a quote I like by Margaret Meade. I have it hanging on my wall at the office which reads:

"Never underestimate the power of a few committed people to change the world. Indeed, it is the only thing that ever has." 

Mel, This is what you and the Mel's team are doing.  You are surrounded by a great group of friends with big hearts. I hope you consider the MRB guys and me among them.

I AM SO TOUCHED THAT EVERYONE SHOWED UP THIS YEAR OF THE MEL'S PIG ROAST YOUR CREW DID A GREAT JOB TO BUILT THIS SPECIAL EVENT OF EVERY YEAR IN SEPTEMBER. WELL I' AM VERY PROUD TO BE APART OF THE MEL'S PIG ROAST THIS YEAR.
